He is a lifeguard on the North Shore and she is a paddler, so it was only natural that this ocean-loving couple’s engagement session include some photos in the water. We are looking forward to photographing this couple’s wedding later this year.

Below are a few photos of the flower lei made by Hawaii’s finest lei makers at this year’s May Day celebration at Kapiolani Park. The last photo is of a feather lei worn by a beautiful old kama’aina lady at the lei day celebration. She was wearing a traditional old style mu’u mu’u with puff sleeves to to match her feather lei. She told us she had just arrived at Kapiolani Park after having tea the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. To me, this woman captures the essence of a bygone era in Hawaii.

Laura and Dan got married in a lovely ceremony at Mid-Pacific Country Club in Lanikai. Laura, a Kailua girl, looked stunning in her wedding gown. Laura and Dan are both lawyers living in Arizona. Best wishes to the happy couple.

We did another mini trash-the-dress session with Tricia and Nelson since it was rainy and overcast for their first photo session. This time we got lucky – it was a beautiful day and the moment Tricia and Nelson got into the water, a turtle swam by and poked his head out (look carefully at the first pic)!

Lanikai Wedding

April 5, 2010

Adam and Rachel got married on a beautiful but very blustery day at a private oceanfront residence in Lanikai, Oahu. They had an intimate celebration with close family members. Adam and Rachel are both surgeons serving in the military. We wish this sweet couple a very happy life together. The fabulous food was catered by Gourmet Events Hawaii

This family had the winning bid for a gift certificate we had donated to a local charity. We enjoyed meeting this lovely family from Mililani.
